Ingredients (makes ≈12–16 pupsicles)
- 2 cups fresh apples (green or red, washed – about 3 medium apples)
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (make sure it’s dog-safe Ceylon cinnamon if possible)
- 2 teaspoons organic cold-pressed coconut oil
Equipment
- High-speed blender or food processor
- Silicone ice cube trays or mini muffin trays (perfect portion control for small dogs)
- Optional: dog-safe chew or bone for a “pupsicle stick”
How to Make Vegan Apple Pupsicles – Step by Step
Prep time: 15 minutes Freeze time: 3–4 hours Total time: ~4 hours 15 minutes
- Prepare the apples Quarter the apples and remove stems and seeds (seeds contain trace cyanide – always remove!).
- Blend Add apples, coconut oil, and cinnamon to your blender. Blend on high until completely smooth (about 45–60 seconds).
- Pour into molds Spoon or pour the apple mixture into silicone ice cube trays or mini muffin trays.
- Optional pupsicle stick Wait 20–30 minutes until the top starts to firm up, then gently press a dog bone or chew into the centre to create an adorable (and functional) handle.
- Freeze Freeze for at least 3–4 hours or overnight for best results.
- Serve & watch the tail wags! Pop out of the mold and serve outside or on an easy-to-clean surface – they melt fast on hot days!
